Keeping one’s precious dog in a safe environment it is important that the owner know where they are at all times. In response to the desire of many dog owners to have some way to keep track of their animal or animals at all times the gps dog collar was contrived. This collar causes no pain or harm to the animal. It looks and feels like any ordinary collar one finds on the market. It has batteries in the collar which need to be replaced as needed.

These collars are very simple and have a homing agent, built into the collar, which allows the owner to keep track of their whereabouts. This eliminates the possibility of them becoming lost or stolen and the owner not being able to locate them. Batteries, which must be replaced on a regular basis, are used to keep this collar activated. There are a large variety of receivers available for this purpose depending on the owners needs and desires.

The GPS receiver is a marvel of today’s science achievements. Allowing a dog owner to know not only the location, but the direction and speed of movement of the animal gives the owner knowledge that they are safe. This brings relief of mind and eliminates the worry that is sometimes experienced when exercising one’s dog.

Hunting in the woods is a wonderful experience enjoyed by many people. However, through the years the hunter has suffered from his or her dogs disappearing into the underbrush in search of some unknown quarry. There is always the fear that they may become lost and not return. In this case there is no better assurance of one’s animal’s safety than the GPS collar and receiver.

The various receiving devices for these collars have become unique. They can vary from the size of a key chain to an elaborate hand held device which relays the necessary information in color. In addition, new features of receivers have been developed to allow the information to be transported even when the owner is not within sight of the animal. Some receivers are designed to contact a specialist should there be a problem finding the animal. This service requires a monthly fee.

The personal computer screen, text or e-mail are GPS receivers which are especially effective for one who wishes to allow their dog to be outside while they remain in the home or office. Using this device is especially useful as it gives a bigger over-all picture of where the animal is located. With this method, the owner would be alerted if the dog was getting in a dangerous position, such as a busy highway.

The invention of the gps dog collar has been of great service for any person lucky enough to have such a companion in their home. By being able to keep control of the animal’s whereabouts, the owner is able to avoid problems with neighbors or nearby highways.
