Use Your Favorite Dog, the Pug, On Your Bank Checks!
Do you love your Pug? How about ordering Pug personal bank checks?
With its wrinkly, short muzzled face, curled tail, and soft snorting sounds, the Pug is a small dog whose name might be a form of the Old English word “pugg” which means “playful little devil.” What it lacks in size, it makes up for in personality.
Pugs have a long history of being pets. Pugs were bred to sit on the laps of the Chinese sovereigns during the Shang Dynasty. Even Tibetan monks kept them as pets. Frequently they are referred to as “Lion Dogs” due to the fact that they resemble the Chinese guard lions.
Later, the Pug became the official dog of the House of Orange because a Pug saved the Prince of Orange’s life in 1572 when it barked at an approaching assassin. Pugs were painted by Goya in Spain and in Italy were dressed in matching pantaloons and jackets and rode by the coachmen of the rich and important. Sometimes, they were used as guard dogs and other times they were employed by the military to track animals.
When confined at Les Carmes prison, Jospehine Bonaparte had her Pug transport concealed messages to her family. Painter William Hogarth’s self-portrait, which now hangs in the Tate gallery, contains an image of him and his Pug, Trump. Queen Victoria even kept Pugs herself.
Pugs’ coats are usually glossy and come in either black, fawn, silver, or apricot. They are extremely friendly and sociable dogs, despite their rather large under-bites and serious facial expressions. They are also a very intelligent breed and rank #57 in Stanley Coren’s “The Intelligence of Dogs.” Pugs are exceedingly fond of their human partners and ask for a lot of attention from their owners.
There are several types of Pug checks available. One series, for example, shows a photograph of an apricot Pug standing in a field of purple flowers. You can purchase matching accessories to correspond with these checks.
In addition, for something lighthearted, you can buy Gary Patterson Pug checks. This series shows a cartoon image of a Pug asking to be fed. These checks also come with matching accessories like address labels, contact cards, and a matching checkbook cover. These are available at an extra cost to you, but they are very inexpensive, costing less than $15 each.
You can also give the Pug Savers money when you order your checks through their website. The proceeds from your checks will go to the foundation which was created to help Pugs who can be prone to several different types of diseases.
Pug Pros also offers a similar deal. With this organization, though, you can even have your own image of you and your favorite Pug printed right onto your own checks. The proceeds will go toward this Pug saving foundation.
Acclaimed wildlife artist Linda Picken also has Pug checks. These are beautiful checks that show the love and devotion that Pugs and their owners share for one another.
